Teresa has been active in promoting the efforts of 'Matter of Trust'. Below are her personal comments followed by links and more information regarding the effort to help in the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill:
"Earlier this year, I had read about a non-profit organization called Matters of Trust. They network hair salons across the U.S. who save the salon's hair clippings and store them to be used when there is an oil spill in the oceans. Enter the Gulf of Mexico's newest oil spill. I started receiving the email alerts on Friday ... it's the "call to action".
"
Having already begun saving my salon's hair clippings a few months ago (they also need used
nylon stockings to make hair booms), I figured more salons need to get on board because of
the magnitude of this oil spill. I'm using Patrick's "smart and lazy" approach to get the
word out to Colorado salons, so I contacted local news media. See for yourself this amazingly
simple yet so effective solution: "
